Fluoride Treatment for Children

Preventing Tooth Decay & Cavities in Edmond

Fluoride is a mineral that is found naturally in water. It not only prevents cavities but also help repair teeth in the very early stages of tooth decay even before the decay is visible.

The in office fluoride treatment has a higher concentration of fluoride than the one found in toothpaste and fluoride mouth rinses. According to the AAPD, in-office fluoride treatments are effective in reducing caries in children with moderate or high caries risk.

Children with moderate caries risk should receive a professional fluoride treatment at least every 6 months; those with high caries risk should receive greater frequency of professional fluoride applications (i.e., every 3-6 months).

If your child is struggling with cavities, fluoride treatments can help.
